Order types and fulfilment

Turn on selling, and decide how orders reach your customers.

Turn selling on first

None of this appears until Sell through your assistant is switched on in Settings → Selling. New accounts start with it off — see Answering vs selling.

How you fulfil orders

The next question sets the statuses your orders move through. Pick the one that matches how work actually happens.

Prepared on-site

For anything made to order. Orders move Pending → Preparing → Ready → Completed, so your team can see at a glance what's in the kitchen and what's waiting to be collected.

Shipped or picked up

For goods that already exist. Orders move Pending → Confirmed → Fulfilled — a shorter flow, because there's no preparation stage to track.

You can cancel an order at any point. You can't move one backwards.

Order types

Under Order types, switch on the ones you offer:

  • Pickup — customers collect. No address needed at checkout.
  • Delivery (restaurants) or Shipping (stores) — customers give an address.

Turn both on and the customer chooses at checkout. Turn only one on and there's nothing to ask.

Delivery and shipping settings

If you deliver or ship, the Delivery settings block sets the terms:

  • Radius — how far you'll go
  • Fee — what you charge
  • Minimum order — below which delivery isn't offered
  • Time estimate — what customers are told to expect
  • Express shipping — an optional faster tier at a higher price

The assistant knows all of this, so it can answer "do you deliver to me?" before someone gets as far as the checkout.

Per-item fulfilment

Individual items can opt out. A store item set to No shipping or pickup never asks for an address — right for anything digital or done on your premises. See Adding items.

💡 Pro tip

Restaurants have checkout blocked automatically outside opening hours, with customers told when you next open. Stores can take orders at any time. Set your hours in Knowledge → Business basics.
