Getting your code
- Go to your Dashboard home
- Find Add it to the site you already have
- Pick a surface — chat bubble, inline panel, button and popup, or ask bar. You get a live preview of each. See Choosing a surface.
- Adjust the appearance settings if you want to, and save
- Copy the snippet
Pasting it in
The snippet is a single <script> tag. Most surfaces need nothing else; inline panels and ask bars come with a <div> that marks where they go.
Squarespace, Wix, WordPress, Shopify
- Find where your platform lets you add custom code — usually "Custom code", "Code injection", or an HTML block
- Paste the snippet. For a site-wide chat bubble, use the setting that injects before the closing
</body>tag on every page. - Save and publish
A site you built yourself
Paste it just before </body> on every page you want the assistant on.
Checking it worked
Open your site in a new tab — not the editor preview, which often strips scripts. You should see your chosen surface within a second or two. If not, see Embed troubleshooting.
💡 You only paste this once
Only where the assistant sits on the page is baked into the snippet. Your greeting, suggested questions, colours, assistant name and everything in Knowledge are read live every time someone opens it — change them in the dashboard and every site running your embed updates immediately, with nothing to re-paste.
