The checklist
Your dashboard shows a setup card with these steps, and rows disappear as you finish them. In order:
- Add what you sell. Create sections, then items — or import the lot from a spreadsheet or photos. See Importing your catalog.
- Tell the assistant what it's for. One sentence in Knowledge → Assistant purpose changes the quality of its answers more than anything else you can do.
- Give it something to know. Hours and contact details in Business basics, then the questions you answer over and over in FAQs.
- Try it. Use the Preview site button in the top bar and ask it the things your customers ask.
- Put it on your site. Copy your snippet from the dashboard and paste it in. See Installing the embed.
- Turn on selling, if you want it. New accounts answer questions but don't take orders. See Answering vs selling.
Tips for a good start
- Start with your most popular items. A small, well-described catalog beats a big vague one — you can always add more.
- Write real descriptions. The assistant answers out of them, so "hand-stretched sourdough base, San Marzano tomatoes" earns its keep in a way that "classic pizza" doesn't.
- Add photos. Customers engage far more with items they can see.
- Ask it the awkward questions — allergens, parking, refunds. Whatever it gets wrong tells you exactly what to add to Knowledge.
Adding your team
You can invite staff in Settings → Business. Staff can view and fulfil orders. They cannot reach Settings, Knowledge, or the dashboard home — so day-to-day fulfilment never risks someone editing your assistant.
💡 Pro tip
You don't have to type your catalog in by hand. Import it from a spreadsheet, or — for restaurants — photograph your printed menu and let Raglie extract the items. See Importing your catalog.
